Weselak & Associates, an on-site training and development company in Lombard, is celebrating its 15th anniversary.
DuPage CVB members are encouraged to visit the DuPage Children's Museum web site and sign up to be a DCM CHAMPION. More than 2,400 supporters have added their voices as advocates to protect this regional treasure and the work that the Museum does to encourage children to think creatively in math, science and the arts. Sign up and add your voice to the cause.
The Morton Arboretum enjoyed a record year for attendance in 2008, with 786,231 visits to the tree museum - the highest level of visitation in its history. This makes the Arboretum the third most-visited public garden or arboretum in North America. The 2008 attendance was approximately 7% above 2007 levels.
The Naperville Park District’s Board President, Suzanne Hart, received a Rising Star Award at the 2009 Illinois Association of Park Districts and Illinois Park and Recreation Association (IPRA) Conference in Chicago last month. The award recognizes up-and-coming board members who have completed a minimum of one year, but not more than six years, of service as a board member.
GREEN ALERT! Purified water stations are now conveniently located throughout the Q Center, allowing guests and visitors high-quality purified water without burdening the environment with harmful plastic bottles. The multiple station reverse-osmosis water purification system was installed in response to guest feedback and reflects their ongoing commitment to eco-friendly practices.
This year marks the 140th anniversary of the Village of Lombard’s incorporation. The DuPage Convention & Visitors Bureau is proud to have Lombard as a strong supporter of our efforts to attract business and leisure travelers to this area, and we offer a hearty congratulations to the Village President Bill Mueller and everyone at the Village of Lombard on this milestone anniversary!

The Sheldon Peck Homestead in Lombard, a “station” on the Underground Railroad, is featuring Underground Railroad history tours on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays in February in honor of Black History Month. Learn about local abolitionist history and Sheldon Peck’s connections with the anti-slavery movement. Tours are free and open to the public, with a suggested donation of $2 per person.
Mon Ami Gabi presents their annual Lemon Festival, February 19-25. Enjoy a multitude of lemon-inspired dishes showcasing the world’s most popular citrus fruit. Festive activities honoring the lemon are also planned throughout the week including zesty trivia and games where one lucky person will win dinner for four.
Enjoy the grandeur of brass instruments as they come to the fore in this concert by the Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra. Brass Blowout II will take place February 22 at 3 p.m. at the Hammerschmidt Chapel on the Elmhurst College campus.

The Arena Theater at Wheaton College is staging Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot, February 20-21 & 23-28. Tickets are $8 for weeknight and matinee performances, and $10 for Friday or Saturday evening shows.
Make plans to attend Country music’s hottest party, February 28 at the Mega Center at Pheasant Run Resort. The show will feature Grammy award-winning vocalist, Gretchen Wilson, and special guests John Rich of Big & Rich, Cowboy Troy and Jeffrey Steele.
The 42nd Annual Elmhurst College Jazz Fest will take place February 27 through March 1. This year's headliners include the Bill Holman Band, Michael Davis, Denis DeBlasio, and the Marie Schneider Band. Tickets are $8-$35, with discounts for kids and seniors.
See the time-honored method of collecting sap the old-fashioned way during Maple Sugaring Days at Naper Settlement, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, and 1 - 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 15. Sample the pleasing taste of maple syrup and take home maple sugar recipes.
Admission is $8/adult, $7/senior, and $5.50/youth age 4-17.
